Appresso Privacy Policy

Appresso is committed to protecting the personal information of its users in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Information and Communications Network Act and the Personal Information Protection Act. This Privacy Policy outlines the purposes for which Appresso collects personal information, the items collected, how they are processed and stored, and the rights of data subjects.

Article 1 (Purpose of Processing Personal Information)

Appresso processes personal information for the following purposes.

  1. Member management: Verification of membership registration intentions, provision of membership services, prevention of fraudulent use, confirmation of consent from the legal guardian when processing personal information of children under the age of 14, delivery of notices, and deletion of personal information upon withdrawal of membership.
  2. Purchase of goods: Order placement, payment processing (Google In-App Purchase), delivery of goods, and management of purchase history.

Article 2 (Items of Personal Information Processed)

Appresso processes the following items of personal information.

  1. Member management:
    • Required items: Email (collected during Google OAuth login), Profile information (collected during Google OAuth login), Name entered in Google account (collected during Google OAuth login).
  2. Purchase of goods:
    • Required items: Card information (for recurring purchases, entered directly by the customer), Date of birth (for Korean individuals, for recurring purchases, entered directly by the customer), Business information (for Korean businesses, for recurring purchases, entered directly by the customer).
    • Information that may be collected when using Google In-App Purchase: Registration information (credit/debit card information, bank account information, address, phone number, date of birth, etc.), Information received from third parties (seller information, payment method information, etc.), Transaction information (transaction date, amount, product information, etc.), Device and usage information (IP address, device identifier, etc.).

Article 3 (Processing and Retention Period of Personal Information)

Appresso retains and uses collected personal information for the following periods.

  1. Member management: Deleted immediately upon withdrawal of membership.
  2. Purchase of goods:
    • Records related to contracts or withdrawal of contracts, etc.: 5 years (Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce, etc.).
    • Records related to payment and supply of goods, etc.: 5 years (Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce, etc.).
    • Records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years (Consumer Protection Act in Electronic Commerce, etc.).
    • Transaction records according to the Tax Code: 5 years (National Tax Code).

Article 4 (Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties)

In principle, Appresso does not provide collected personal information to third parties. However, there are exceptions where personal information may be provided to third parties with the consent of the data subject or when there is a specific provision in the law.

Article 5 (Outsourced Processing of Personal Information)

Appresso outsources personal information processing tasks to external companies as follows for service provision.

Article 6 (Rights and Obligations of Data Subjects and Methods of Exercise)

Data subjects may exercise the following rights against Appresso at any time.

  1. Request to view personal information.
  2. Request to correct errors in personal information.
  3. Request to delete personal information.
  4. Request to suspend processing of personal information.

Data subjects can request the exercise of the above rights by contacting Appresso in writing, by phone, or by email. Appresso will take action without delay.

Article 7 (Measures to Ensure the Safety of Personal Information)

Appresso takes the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information.

  1. Administrative measures: Establishment and implementation of internal management plans.
  2. Technical measures: Management of access rights to personal information processing systems, installation of access control systems, encryption of unique identification information, etc.
  3. Physical measures: Access control to data storage facilities.
